FSAE team 2016
Since I was a little boy—about the age of ten—I had aspired to be a Formula One fan and work my way up to the top of the motorsports industry. I joined my university's mechanical engineering department in 2011 with the intention of studying the creation of single-seater vehicles. As a second-year full-time BSC student, I felt increasingly helpless in the face of the many challenges I faced in my pursuit of forming my university's inaugural Formula Student team, including a lack of resources, an inadequate understanding of vehicle design, and restricted access to university labs.
In 2014, I began making the team and recruiting students to start together with nothing more than hope. Maintaining enthusiasm until the FSAE Italy 2016 application was available was challenging due to the group's self-funded beginning. After that, the whole squad signed up and paid the registration money, but since there was no light at the end of the tunnel, we completed all the necessary numerical calculations and CAD car designs to ensure a good time, which we accomplished.
It was said that finishing the car on time would be difficult with our tiny budget, limited knowledge, and constrained manufacturing facilities. Still, we did it, and we were the first class 1 team to repeat Egypt.
At my university, the team is still going strong. The true measure of success was preserving a legacy and providing an environment where each student could develop their talents.
